Question: How can we save money by saving energy?

Ipsita writes from somewhere in the world: "How can we save money by saving energy?"

Answer: Saving energy means saving such natural resources as coal, natural gas and oil. In the U.S. and other places where homeowners must pay for the energy used to heat and cool their homes, saving energy saves money by reducing our cost for that energy.

Also, those of us who want to preserve the world for future generations believe we must use energy wisely and conserve it as much as we can so there will be some for future generations to use.

For more information about the need to save energy visit the Alliant Energy Kids Web site. Other good information can be found at the U.S. Department of Energy Web site section Ask a Scientist, and the California Energy Commission Web site for Professor Questor. At the bottom of Professor Questor's Saving Energy page is a list of links to even more information. I hope you have fun learning about the need to save energy and money.
